Sunny Bulgaria welcomes  students from Dêbinka

This week the representatives of our Junior High School  together with Mrs. Basia Kowalik and Mr Adam Grabus have gone for a visit connected with Commenius program to Bulgaria. They were very well prepared for the visit as a few weeks before we had in our school Bulgarian Day, prepared mosty by the students who are taking part in the meeting  in Bulgaria. We enclose a short report from that day written by one of our student- Weronika Wencel.

We wish our representatives a nice stay in Bulgaria and we hope for an interesting report after they come back.

The Bulgarian Day

Last Friday, on  March 11th 2011 at our school we celebrated  a Bulgarian Day. It was connected with our Comenius project and we devoted this day to learning something about this country.
Teachers invited to our school a Bulgarian family who have lived in Poland for many years. They told us a lot of stories about Bulgaria, about its history, geography, culture, civilization, monuments, traditions, dishes and many other interesting facts. It was a really good and interesting meeting. We could learn something about Bulgaria from the point of view of people who know a lot on  this topic. It was really interesting!

Later we saw a film about Polish trucks in Bulgaria. There were a lot of amazing photos from the most popular places in that country and we could see what a beautiful place  it is.
There was also  time to check what we know. Our older friends prepared for us a special Quiz about Bulgaria. It was good fun!
Some students prepared an exhibition with some souvenirs from this country. We could  also see a short film and a  presentation about the most important monuments. There were a lot of photos, pieces of paper with information and objects brought from Bulgaria. We could touch everything and ask questions  about them. At the end we could try a Bulgarian cake.
Then  there was time for cooking. We prepared traditional Bulgarian salads.
Later we had to move a bit as to our  school arrived  professional dancers. They taught us some popular Bulgarian dances step by step. It wasn’t so easy, but it was  really good fun. I think that everybody had a good time to the end.

To sum up it was an excellent day. We could do something different and learn something about  undoubtedly interesting Bulgaria. Especially it was useful for students who would soon be going to Bulgaria with Comenius project this spring. But for the others I’m certain it was so much better than normal lessons.

Unquestioningly everybody will remember this day for a long time.
